Day 1 Wednesday Delhi Cantonment (The Capital Getaway)

India Gate DelhiThe train leaves from Delhi every Wednesday. At 1500 hours sharp, Royal Orient Train rolls out of Delhi Cantonment Railway Station. In the evening the guests are served tea and later in the night dinner is served on board.

Day 2 Thursday Chittaurgarh (The City of Courage)

ChittaurgarhThe trains rolls in the historic city of Chittaurgarh that stands testament to the heroic resistance of the Rajputs against Muslim invasion. The 7th century Chittaur Fort sprawls over 700 acres of land and is truly of monster proportion. You can even see the cellar where Queen Padmini along with hundreds of Rajput women committed suicide to avoid falling to the enemy hand when the fall of Chittaurgarh to the invading army looked imminent. You will also have the opportunity to visit the temple dedicated to the mystic poetess, Meerabai.

The next stop is Udaipur. Popularly called the "City of Lakes", Udaipur is a beautiful city with beautiful gardens lined up beside the streets, fine temples and grand palaces. The train will stop at Udaipur and you will have enough time to stroll around Lake Picchola, Suraj Pol and Mor Chowk.

Day 3 Friday Mehsana (The Sun God Temple)

Sun TempleThe train leaves Rajasthan and rolls into the Indian state of Gujarat. In Ahmedabad you will get the opportunity to see the Jumma Masjid, popularly called the most beautiful mosque of the orient. The famous Sun Temple that stands on a lotus is also a great tourist attraction. The shrine faces the east and the ray of the rising sun will fall on the sanctum creating an ethereal ambience.

Patan (The Beauty in Stepwell)
The place is famous for its step-wells. Every step is a wonder in sculpture and the creation of this type of architecture requires a lot of finesse and skill.

Day 4 Saturday Sasangir (See the Asiatic Lions)

SasangirOther than being a great ecological wilderness and a fantastic wildlife reserve, the place is also home to the majestic Asiatic lions. The existence of these lions were threatened by massive hunting expeditions but conservation has yielded results. Today, it is estimated that there are about 312 lions in the forest. There is also a crocodile farm in the Gir Forest. This is surely going to be an extra-ordinary tour for you.

Ahmedpur - Mandvi (Romantic Resort)
This is a beautiful resort full of luxurious amenities. The resort is located 12 km away from the virgin beach. It also has water-sports facilities.

Diu (Sea, Sand and Sun)
The island of Diu has some of the finest beaches in the country. The fort of Diu is a wonderful place to visit.

Day 5 Sunday Palitana (The Temple Town)

PalitanaThe place is popularly called "The Temple City" and is arguably the most picturesque pilgrim center of the followers of Jainism. There are more than 863 temples made of stones. Sarkhej is a village that has a medieval ambience about it.

Day 6 Monday Ranakpur

RanakpurThe place is 96 km from Udaipur and has five Jain shrines. You will find more than 500 temples in very good condition even to this day. The graceful pillars and carved domes are wonderful sight to behold.

Day 7 Tuesday Jaipur (The Pink City)

JaipurThe city of Jaipur is strewned with historical landmarks. It is famous for its architectural wonders like the Hawa Mahal and the Jantar Mantar. The place is also famous for Rajasthani art and culture. The colorful dresses of Rajasthan always draws a lot of attention.

Day 8 Wednesday Delhi

At 0700 hours the train rolls in the Delhi Cantonment Railway Station. Although the wonderful journey through the corridors of history has come to an end, the tour will surely remain etched in your mind
